If Autopay is active, it will run every evening if there are funds available, however users are able to pause Autopay until a specific date which would allow them to set a date. Note, it is also only triggered by funds being loaded to the wallet, and the 48 hour notification is designed to give them visibility of the plan so they can log in and allocate differently if they choose.
Yes - caregivers choose whether to include voluntary payments or not during setup. They can set Autopay to cover all Payment Request types, compulsory only, or voluntary only.
Yes - if a new payment request comes in that matches the caregiver's rules (e.g. it's compulsory and they've opted into compulsory), it will be picked up automatically. No action needed from the family.
Yes - if there are no outstanding payment requests that match the caregiver's Autopay rules, funds will sit in the wallet until a request comes in. Autopay only allocates when there's something to allocate to, and if there’s many items it will spread out across them, focusing on compulsory first.
Autopay is available to all Kindo Payable schools - it's not something schools need to opt into. Families opt in themselves. There's no school-level switch to turn it on or off.
If you have already setup splits for this family, they will only see the amount due to be paid by them. They would set to 100%.
Yes - how you categorise your payment requests matters. Autopay always allocates to compulsory items first, then voluntary if the caregiver has opted in. It's worth reviewing how your payment requests are set up to make sure they're categorised correctly.
Yes - you can see on the POS page which families have Autopay active. You won't see the specific preferences they've set, but you can see that it's running.
The allocation order is set by the Kindo system - compulsory pay-in-full first, then compulsory part-pay spread evenly, then voluntary. Schools can't reorder within that logic, but categorising items correctly as compulsory ensures they're prioritised.
If permission questions are attached to a payable, caregivers will receive notification that this item requires the form to be answered prior to the payment. Autopay will not pay for these items without the permission answers. They can go into Kindo and complete the questions and pay using those wallet funds.
Similar to above, caregivers will receive notification that the item requires a form to be answered before they can make payment.
Refunds return to the caregiver's Kindo wallet. From there, Autopay rules apply in the same way as any other funds in the wallet - if there are outstanding payment requests that match their preferences, Autopay will allocate accordingly at the next run.
Kindo will communicate directly with families about Autopay - including how to set it up. We'll also provide schools with information they can share with their community. You won't need to explain the setup yourself, but we'll make sure you have what you need to answer questions.
Yes - we'll have help documentation and a caregiver-facing guide ready when Autopay launches. Watch for that in the comms we send to schools.
When Autopay launches, Kindo will communicate directly to families with instructions on how to set it up. Schools will also receive information to share with their community. We'll make sure no one is left without the information they need.
Yes, we'll send a link (see here) to the recording to all those invited for you to share within your school. Again, we ask you do not share wider than your school staff.
It's not in our current plan, but the direction we're heading is toward more automated top-up options. We're working toward a future where the wallet top-up itself can be more automated - watch this space.
The list of outstanding items will be ordered alphabetically and in order of most recent year, ensuring caregivers see the most current first. They will also be able to choose to sort differently (for example, by student).
Really useful feedback - this is exactly the kind of thing we want to hear from this group. We'll make sure this is captured.
We're currently working on allowing schools to set their colour using a hex code so it's completely on-brand. More detail on that to come.
Yes - the experience will be consistent across the app and the web version.
