Kiwi Families Raise Nearly $100,000 for Schools - Just by Ordering Lunch

Even in a tightening economy, New Zealand families are proving that small actions can make a big difference.

In Term 3 alone, parents across the country raised $93,750 for their schools simply by ordering their children’s lunches through Ezlunch - no raffles, no sausage sizzles, no extra admin required.

How It Works

At schools who choose to leverage the fundraising option, every Ezlunch order gives 10% back to the school, automatically. Parents get convenient, freshly made lunches - schools get a reliable fundraised income stream.

And that money is making an impact.

Schools have used the funds to:

  • Support students facing hardship
  • Boost classroom programmes
  • Buy new sports gear
  • Lower the cost of extracurricular activities

As one principal put it:

“These funds go straight to where they’re needed most. Every order helps us deliver opportunities and support for students that we otherwise couldn’t provide.”

Generosity in Challenging Times

This uplifting milestone comes at a time when many households are feeling the squeeze. New Zealand’s GDP contracted by 0.9% in the June 2025 quarter, and families continue to juggle rising costs in food, housing, and energy.

That so many are still choosing options that support their school community speaks volumes about the generosity and resilience of Kiwi families.

More Choice, Better Value

To help keep lunch ordering accessible for all families, Ezlunch is expanding its range to include more budget-friendly options alongside favourites like sushi, Subway and Pita Pit.

A recent partnership with a local New World in Auckland is bringing traditional, homemade-style lunches into the mix - giving families more variety without stretching the wallet.

A Small Habit Making a Big Difference
“It’s remarkable to see that, even in tougher times, families are using everyday choices to give back to their schools. Nearly $100,000 raised in one term is something worth celebrating.” Suzie Dunlop, COO, Kindo.

At Kindo and Ezlunch, we’re proud to help make fundraising effortless - and to champion the kindness that’s clearly alive and well in our school communities.

Here’s to many more lunches doing good.
